'For Our Elders'
The 2023 NAIDOC Week theme is 'For Our Elders', acknowledging the important role Elders have played, and continue to play, across generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families. It is an opportunity to pay respects to Elders, and the struggles, strength, and activism that have paved the way for future generations.
Celebrate under the Gawler Place Canopy in Rundle Mall from 10:30 am on Tuesday 4 July with an official Kaurna Welcome to Country Ceremony and Smoking Ceremony, followed by the unveiling of this year's artwork by Aboriginal artist Caitlyn Davies-Plummer of Dustin Koa Art.
