The construction of the Gawler Place Upgrade project will commence early next year. The upgrade will ensure that the street remains an attractive destination where people shop, visit and spend time.
Utility services construction works for the Gawler Place Upgrade need to be undertaken ahead of the main construction works. From 19 November the following utility works will be undertaken at various locations in Gawler Place between Rundle Mall and Grenfell Street:
The installation of underground telecommunications (NBNCo)
The modification to existing SA Water pipes.
The utility services works will be undertaken at night, after business hours from Monday to Thursday from 7pm to 6am and Friday from 9:30pm to 6am, and over a period of 3 weeks.
The Upgrade Team are working closely with NBNCo and SA Water to ensure that, during these works, Gawler Place continues to function as a place where people shop, trade, work, walk, cycle and make deliveries and pickups.
Construction of the project is proposed to commence in early 2019 and we will be back in touch with you again soon to provide further details about the project’s construction.
