South Australian Olympian and Paralympians on stage

Olympic Welcome Home Ceremony

Australia’s Olympians and Paralympians were welcomed home at a public celebration in Rundle Mall on Sunday 15 September 2024.

The event was hosted by the Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas and Lord Mayor of Adelaide, Dr Jane Lomax-Smith, with Brenton Ragless as MC.

Athletes who attended the event included, Conor Leahy (Track Cycling), Isobel Borlase (Opals Bronze Medallist), Matthew Glaetzer (Track Cycling) and Nikki Ayers and Jed Altswager (Para-Rowing) were welcomed on stage near Gawler Place and fans were then given the chance to meet their favourite sports stars in person, hear inspiring stories, and show their support for these dedicated athletes who had given their all for their country.

This was more than just a celebration – it was a moment to unite as a community and share in the joy of our athlete’s success.

Rundle Mall being central to the City of Adelaide and a key meeting place for South Australians made it the perfect place for our requirements. The site had a great crowd of enthusiastic locals that gave our athletes a warm welcome home.
