HAS ARRIVED IN THE MALL

Website-Header-Story

Colour and vibrancy have filled the Rundle Mall precinct to promote plant life balance and mental health as part of the Living Colour Festival.

This is the first time the festival will take place thanks to the partnership between Rundle Mall Management Authority, Nursery and Garden Industry SAPlant Life Balance and mental health organisation Headspace.

From Sunday May 1 to May 15 crates filled with an array of flowers and plant life are being featured throughout the precinct, adding a pop of colour to the heart of the city.

There will also be fun and colourful activation's available throughout the festival including:

  • Get your hands on some FREE seedling packets and grow your own Forget Me Not flowers (roving the Mall from Friday 6 - Sunday 8 May)
  • The Living Colour Community Garden - bring Mum and help build our community garden on Saturday 7 May
  • Visit the Living Colour Bar for Friday night drinks with DJ Reidy from Fresh 92.7
  • Enjoy a drink with Mum before PAFC take on Brisbane at the Living Colour Bar
  • Enjoy a pre-game drink at the Living Colour Bar before you see AFC take on Dangerfield & Geelong.

More than 3000 plants, including ferns, pansies, snapdragons, geraniums, chrysanthemums and herbs, provided by South Australian growers have been used to create exquisite displays.

Rundle Mall hopes the Living Colour Festival will add some extra colour to the lives of South Australians and visitors in the lead up to winter as well as encourage people to prioritise their wellbeing by improving their plant life balance.

The Living Colour Festival will also give us the chance to celebrate the contribution that plants and flowers make to our State.

The festival extends into the precinct’s enchanting laneways with a range of flowers and plants featured off of the main strip of Rundle Mall.

Local artist Leah Grant kicked off the festival on Sunday 1 May, creating a beautiful piece of artwork reflecting her interpretation of the Living Colour theme called ‘Discover’, you can see this piece on display under the Gawler Place Canopy until Sunday 15 May.

On Sunday May 15 all plants used in the festival will be sold to the public with all proceeds being donated to Headspace Adelaide.
